Ian Ludford
Ian studied at the Birmingham School of Music and the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne. He was a member of the Academy of the BBC, before joining the world renowned City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Alongside his orchestral work, Ian has performed in many small ensemble groups playing a wide range of music from classical to pop.
Janet studied at London’s Guildhall School of Music. After positions with the Academy of the BBC, Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet Orchestra and the BBC Midland Radio Orchestra, she has enjoyed a successful freelance career, working with legendary artists including Chris de Burgh, Barry Manilow and Roger Daltry. She has performed on many recordings, in touring shows such as Les Miserables, My Fair Lady and Sound of Music, in classical concerts and regularly performs with the Birmingham Royal Ballet Sinfonia.

After many years of playing the cello professionally at the highest level, married couple Ian and Janet Ludford decided to bring their talents together to form the Ludford Duo, playing for all kinds of functions.
With a large and varied repertoire, the Ludford Duo is able to match their performance to the event to make it special, unique and memorable. As well as playing for functions, the Duo has performed many concerts together.
We have played for a wide range of clients, including anyone wishing to get married, wedding planners, special celebrations and venues. We welcome and look forward to hearing from you.
